Operation Christmas Child is a unique project of Samaritan’s Purse bringing God’s hope and joy to children in desperate situations.
They partner with local churches, groups, businesses, schools and individuals worldwide, sharing God’s love by giving gift-filled shoeboxes to needy children, between the ages of 2-14, in over 100 countries.
This year, Emmanuel has chosen to partner with Samaritan’s Purse for Operation Christmas Child. Over this term, we need people to donate or give different items that we can put in the shoeboxes.
Below are some suggestions for items that can be donated:
In each classroom, there are two plastic buckets. Students can bring in donated items and place them in their class’s buckets.
On the last day of term 3 (Thursday, 20 September) , parents are invited to join with staff and students to fill empty shoeboxes with the donated gifts.
We will be holding a sausage sizzle fundraiser to help raise the money to send all the shoeboxes that we fill. Each student must fill in the details and return the Order form and money (no change given) to the class teacher by Thursday 13th September.
Here are some photos from 2015 and 2016 Shoe Box Packing Party.
