West Timor Sister-School Partnership
16 International students from West Timor are visiting ECCS in Term 2!
ECCS is embarking on an exciting new partnership with Tunas Bangsa Christina Community School in West Timor. Just like ours, Tunas Bangsa is a school which is founded as part of the ministry of the local church and serves the surrounding community.
Partnership Aims
Through partnership with Tunas Bangsa Christian School we hope to:
- Build an international friendship and connectedness
- Collaborative student engagements
- Building and sharing of Christ centered curriculum
- Reciprocal student and teacher exchange visits
Current progress
It is exciting to announce that the partnership between both schools has already developed significantly! Eaerlier this year, we had the pleasure of hosting the Principal of Tunas Bangsa Christian School, Mrs Melsiana Pellokila for one week. During this time she was able to meet staff, observe classes, interact with students and experience the great community support of ECCS.
Future Projects
In 2018, we will host our first group of international visiting students. From 30th April – 12th May a group of high school students plus two teachers will come to ECCS where they will participate in classes in the high-school. Language development, peer learning, staff collaboration and student relationships will be the primary focus of the visit.
In September of 2018 several teaching staff from ECCS will travel to West Timor to join teachers at Tunas Bangsa and providing training in establishing Christ centered curriculum and sharing of pedagogical ideas to enhance learning!
We Need Host Families!!
We are looking for families in our school community who are interested in taking care of a student during the duration of their stay in Perth. If you would like to open your home to a student from our sister school, please read and fill in the application form below and return to the Admin office at Salcott Office by the end of Term 1. This would be a wonderful opportunity to be a part of a great project for our school community, and establish a lasting relationship between your child and a visiting student.
